To the Honorable City Council: The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council accept and approve expending a grant of $108,226.71 from Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) to Health & Human Services, under the provisions of MGL Chapter 44, Section 53A. The purpose of this grant is to pay for the position of Shared Services Coordinator, Payroll Taxes/Fringe Benefits and Administrative Costs for the City of Somerville. This grant was originally awarded to HHS from DPH for FY22, FY23 & FY24 but was transferred in FY22 & FY23 to MAPC. MAPC is now awarding HHS a grant to fund the Shared Services Coordinator position that will work with Somerville and Arlington, along with Fringe Benefits/Payroll Taxes and Administrative Costs for the City of Somerville. Appropriate staff will be available to answer any questions you may have. Thank you for your consideration of this item. Respectfully submitted, Katjana Ballantyne, Mayor
