Requesting approval to accept and expend a $9,877 grant with no new match required, from The Home Depot Foundation to the Veterans' Services Department for the Team Depot Volunteer Project to build a veterans moving wall.

To the Honorable City Council: The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council accept and approve expending a grant of $9,877.00 from The Home Depot Foundation to the Veterans Services Department, under the provisions of MGL Chapter 44, Section 53A. This grant does not require the commitment of new matching funds. The purpose of this grant is to pay for materials to build the Veterans moving wall. Team Depot will build the frame structure to house a veterans moving wall that will list 58,000.00 names of service members. Payment will be in form of e-gift cards sent to Veterans Director Ted Louis-Jacques. Appropriate staff will be available to answer any questions you may have.
