Requesting the appropriation of $94,536 from the Receipts Reserved for Appropriation, Supplemental State Aid Account to the Judgments and Settlements Account to pay additional costs of purchasing the parcel of land known as 90 Washington Street.

To the Honorable City Council: The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council approve the appropriation of $94,536 from the Receipts Reserved for Appropriation, Supplemental State Aid Account (Fund 3211-Org. 321101) to the Judgments and Settlements Account, for the purpose of paying additional costs of purchasing the parcel of land in the city known as 90 Washington Street, as determined by the Middlesex County Superior Court in the matter of Cobble Hill Center LLC vs. Somerville Redevelopment Authority (1981CV02669). The supplemental state aid was distributed in September 2024 to communities who received a pro-rated Veterans, Blind, Surviving Spouse, and Veterans MVE exemption payment for FY2024. The Department of Revenue has determined that the funds may be treated as an available fund and appropriated for any legal purpose until 6/30/2025.
