To the Honorable City Council: Pursuant to Section 2-121 of the Somerville Code of Ordinances, I hereby request your approval to retain the firm of Verrill Dana, LLP, One Federal Street, 20th Floor, Boston, MA 02110, as outside legal counsel to represent the City of Somerville in Combined Sewer Overflow Control matters including, but not limited to: 1) an updated Combined Overflow Control Plan, 2) creation of a new stormwater outfall, 3) NPDES permit renewal for the Deer Island Treatment Plant and 4) analysis of the 2024 MS4 General NPDES Permit.
