That the proposed Charter be amended relative to providing legal counsel for the City Council by inserting a new section placing the question on the ballot as follows. SECTION ##. The city clerk shall cause the following question to be placed on the official ballot to be used in the city of Somerville at the next regular municipal election to be held on November 4, 2025 or the next regular municipal election at which the city can comply with the Commonwealth's applicable ballot requirements: Shall the City Council of the city of Somerville have their own legal representation? SECTION ###. Section ## shall take effect upon acceptance by the majority of the voters of the city voting in the affirmative and the charter shall be amended in the sections relating to or referencing the city solicitor and city council.
