Requesting the appropriation of $170,000 from the Salary Contingency account to various Police Department Personal Services accounts to fund a collective bargaining agreement with the Somerville Police Employees Association.

To the Honorable City Council: The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council approve the transfer of $170,000 from the Salary Contingency Account 0199951-511000 to various Police Department Personal Services Accounts listed below to fund a collective bargaining settlement with the Somerville Police Employees Association. This appropriation represents funding for hours worked in FY25 after May 11, 2025. A separate appropriation will be submitted at a later date to fund the retroactive component of this agreement. 0121051-511000 SALARIES: $160,000 0121051-519022 HAZARDOUS DUTY STIPEND: $10,000 Appropriate staff will be available to address any questions you may have.
