Requesting approval to appropriate $100,000 from the Community Benefits Stabilization Fund to support the Senior Taxi Program.

To the Honorable City Council: The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council appropriate $100,000 from the Community Benefits Stabilization Fund to support the Senior Taxi Program. Due to Federal cuts, the Somerville Cambridge Elder Services will no longer be able to support transportation to congregate meal sites in Somerville. This funding will provide two rides per week for older adults to access programs and services held at Somerville's Senior Centers. An explanatory memo is attached to this communication.
