Requesting approval to accept and expend a $304,954.10 grant with no new match required, from the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities to the Health and Human Services department for the 2025-2026 Winter Warming Center.

To the Honorable City Council: The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council accept and approve expending a grant of $304,954.10 from the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities to the Health and Human Services department, under the provisions of MGL Chapter 44, Section 53A. This grant does not require the commitment of new matching funds. The purpose of this grant is to cover the costs of 35 beds of emergency winter shelter in Somerville from December 8, 2025, through April 12, 2026 Appropriate staff will be available to answer any questions you may have.
