Requesting the appropriation of $78,900 from the Medical Marijuana Stabilization Fund to fund a Jail Diversion Clinician in the Community Outreach, Help and Recovery Unit.

To the Honorable City Council: The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council approve an appropriation of $78,900 from the Medical Marijuana Stabilization fund [7130] for the purpose of funding a Jail Diversion Clinician within the Police-COHR (Community Outreach, Help and Recovery) Division. This position is focused on diverting individuals with mental illness and substance use from arrest and helps to identify resources to support recovery.
