Requesting approval to accept and expend a $2,900 grant with no new match required, from Department of Fire Services to the Fire Department for the Senior Student Awareness of Fire Education (SAFE) Program.

To the Honorable City Council: The Mayor respectfully requests that this Council accept and approve expending a grant of $2900.00 from Dept. of Fire Services to the Fire Department, under the provisions of MGL Chapter 44, Section 53A. This grant does not require the commitment of new matching funds. The purpose of this grant is to pay for educating our senior residents on the risks of fire and other life safety hazards.
